Sewing Machine Repair

Sewing machines are a lot like cars in that they have occasional need to be repaired, especially if you have put a lot of miles on your machine. There are sewing machine mechanics who specialize in repairing all kinds of sewing machines, sergers, quilting and embroidery machines, etc.

Also just like cars, repair of sewing machines has gotten a bit more delicate as most new sewing machines are digital. Gone are the days where you could open up the beast, do a little tinkering, and voila! - Fixed! Repairing new sewing machines requires a competent mechanic because of the digital aspect. A good sewing machine repairman will be able to fix old sewing machines for sure, but he should also be up to date on modern sewing machine technology.

Here in Utah where I live, sewing is a hobby of many women, so sewing machine repair shops in Utah probably get a fair amount of business. Here are a few sewing machine repair places in Utah County:

  • Dave's Bernina - 268 W. Center, Provo, Utah 374-5520
  • Nuttall's Fabric Center - 53 W. Main St., American Fork, Utah 756-2223
